The berry comes from a very old tree dating before the time of Christ, back to 2000 BC. The tree itself grows to 10-20 meters; the fruits are the size of a large grape, even though the outside peel is not editable. This berry grows in clusters on the tropical tree which has a dark gray bark with leaves in two to four pairs. It bears shade, but the fruits are sweet and delicious.

Before the fruit is mature, there are beautiful, sweet smelling flowers, which grow in clusters. There are hundreds and hundreds of white, green, and yellow flowers to prepare this berry, which will be produced from the buds. The fruit is usually ripened in about 100 days, and the berries are sweet. Lychees are a distinctive fruit of this type of berry. The wonderful thing about this berry is the fact that it has benefits for humans with vitamin C. And, it doesn't take very many berries to provide 72 milligrams of vitamin C. On an average, nine fruits can meet the daily requirement of vitamin C in an adult's diet. Sometimes they're advertised as nuts in a Health Food store; however, they are fruits from the tree.

In addition to vitamin ...
... C, soapberries provide other minerals to the body, such as copper, potassium, and phosphorus. They are low in saturated fats, and cholesterol free. This soapberry is known to be more nutritious, and more help oriented than grapes, themselves. Many regard these berries as a delicacy and a fruit with an unusual flavor of sweetness. The Health Food market is looking for new foods that supply our bodies with good nutrition by giving minerals that do not have the bad cholesterol and other harmful elements to the body. It has a lot of the benefits that they're looking for. Growing Soapberry in the tropics supplies necessary vitamins and minerals to us in a most unusual way.

Whether you live in the tropics, or whether you're shopping at a Health Food store, or online, you can either taste the berry, itself, once it is peeled, or you can buy soap berry from the Health Food market. Its benefits are outstanding, in the fact that it provides an enormous amount of vitamin C, has a lot of the benefits that grapes supply, and provides some of the minerals that we need for our bodies. Shifting our education and our diets to a more healthful food style, we will be able to exchange some of the foods we have been eating over the last decade, to a new line of thinking when it comes to our nutrition.
