Habits That Discourage Parents From Participating In Fundraising For Schools
Fundraising for schools is a part and parcel of our culture. Educational institutions involve well-wishers and parents for bringing up the finance required for activities which government allocations are not provided. The institutions also raise funds for starting projects like dance classes that will be beneficial for the students with a view to give some donations to some charitable causes. Nowadays, many schools are not able to get donations from well-wishers and parents as they too are facing a tough financial situation.
The current economic situation faced by people of many countries have greatly affected particularly people falling under the middle income category. When a close look is taken into the fundraising activities done by some schools, it is found that parents are not inspired to participate. Even though, it is true that these educational institutions are following some things habitually, they will have to get a closer look into their ideas for bringing up funds in such a way that they can get continued support from the supporters for the betterment of their educational facilities or some charitable cause, ...
... etc.
There are certain popular fundraising ideas for schools that are followed regularly. The ideas chosen by the educational institutions should motivate the supporters to make their contribution. The problem here is that many institutions follow the same technique every year thereby making the parents to feel bored. On the other hand, when they could follow some innovative ideas that will be benefiting the future of children in one form or another can encourage them to participate. Ideas should be chosen in such a way that it can pull crowds. For instance, if the institution can follow some enjoyable ideas, it will surely encourage children to participate, which will in turn make the parents to generously contribute.
Another mistake made by some institutions in that they do not involve parents in their planning process for raising money. If their inputs are not invited, there are chances that they will not participate enthusiastically. For instance, if the school authorities are planning to choose card making for raising the funds, they can inform the same to the parents and can invite their votes to know their interest in this idea.
Also, the frequency of the fundraising events is important. If the institution informs about some fundraising ideas for schools frequently, the parents will lose interest because some of them will be busy to participate. So, it should be a rare event.
