How To Avoid Conflicts Among Band Members
We meet so many people daily, we make so many promises to several people, we play so many roles at every phase of life whether it is on personal front or professional front. In this fast moving life, where people are associated with their work in their businesses or profession, there are certain situations which create conflicts between each other. These conflicts take place due to unwanted, unexpected and random situations which causes misunderstanding, distrust and spoil a healthy relationship.
Human beings are very sensitive and therefore, they tend to react at situations there and then, sometimes because of intense and aggressive reactions, situations become even worse and uncontrollable. Conflicts can take place at any place, whether in your house, between spouses, between friends, at workplace, in any profession, or in any field. Generally, conflicts arise due to misunderstandings or miscommunication and if such issues are not sorted out immediately, they might take a bad shape.

... between a musician and its contractor, etc. The worst thing about this conflict taking place in the music industry is that every small piece of information here becomes the headline or can be seen on Page 3. Life of a celebrity is very sensitive and is loved by the media people because this is where they can get the latest updates and people like to read their newspaper because of this.
Some of the common reasons behind conflict are:
● When people are unable to control their ego, conflicts are very obvious to take place. Every human being has some degree of ego in him/ her. But, if it comes to a successful person, the degree of ego is even much higher therefore; any issue is likely to take shape of a big hue because of this.
● Sometimes due to stereotyping, people tend to make wrong image about a person or get influenced from someone else, on the basis of which, he/ she treats the other person and which may cause conflict between them. This conflict could have been avoided easily but due to misunderstanding and reacting without knowing causes conflicts between two persons.
● Most of the times, at the workplace, there are work related issues between peers at same level, between juniors and seniors, between seniors and seniors, which is a very common thing which can be noticed. This is because of human nature, where some people do not want to do their piece of work or some are dissatisfied with the work they do, some create hurdles in way of hardworking people and some want to get benefits without doing any work.
● Miscommunication has been one of the most responsible factors of conflicts. Due to lack of proper communication between two people, conflict occurs. And sometimes it even becomes very difficult to figure out the problems and make everything back to normal. People often think that due to some selfish motive or interest, the other person acted in such a way.
● Conflicts of interests may also occur due to assumptions and past experiences. Some people experience bad incidences in their life and at any point of time, they might compare their present situation with that incidence. This comparison is negative at most of the times which tend to make that person react adverse to the situation and causes conflicts.
● In a group of people or a team, where everyone is working towards the same motive and share same degree of interest, conflicts in interests tend to arise between them. These conflicts can be due to professional differences an issues, mostly related with the matter of money or its equal division among all or it may be because of not getting full recognition and appreciation for the work done.
● Sometimes responsibility and accountability are also responsible for conflicts. When a person is given some authority to do a task, he/ she are also accountable to his authorized person. In the verge of completing the assigned task, you make more of enemies than friends. Your peers may not like that you were the chosen one to complete the task or you are showing bossy behavior over them after getting the authority though, you were just doing you piece of work.
● Some conflicts may arise out of innocent acts. Some people are held responsible for helping their friends and family members for their personal interests, though, this may not be the case.
People find so many reasons to become a part of conflicts, but they should work towards reducing and eliminating it to make everything back to normal. You must:
● Remove misunderstanding between each other by talking face to face about the subject matter and think where you did wrong.
● Talk to your peers and seniors in case of any misunderstanding taking place and make them understand your motive behind acting so. If they are cooperative and understanding, they will understand your genuine request and will come back to normal.
● You can take guidance from your superiors or elders or friends whom you think will give you right advice to deal with the situation.
● You need to be alert and keep your eyes open to make discrimination between people who are your well wishers and those who can create trouble for you just for their selfish motives.
● Do not hesitate in doing right thing by getting afraid of conflicts, may be trouble making people come on right track after watching you stick to your principles and plans.
At the last, I would only say that you need to be neutral and impartial with everyone so that situations which can create conflicts in interest can be avoided or fixed up.
