Web content filter programs initially look promising, but many companies do not think so. In fact, while these companies to recognize the capacity and the capabilities of programs such as anti-spam appliance, vulnerability scanning, and others, they think that content filters are potentially dangerous to the overall flow of one's organization. However, at a closer inspection, it is easy to see that web content filter programs—much like vulnerability scanning or anti-spam appliance procedures—do so much for an organization. Many may contest that such filters imply numerous things, including the organization's authoritarian stance, but this does not change the fact that such programs are useful and can increase a company's productivity.

Many companies refuse to use web content filter programs because they do not want the employees to think that they are being censored. The filtering program has some sort of Big Brother-esque feel to it, as if the employees are under a martial law and they cannot view websites that they feel like viewing. To be fair, not all employees waste their office time visiting websites ...
... unrelated to their work. This is why employees think that the ones who do follow the regulations should not be punished. In a way, this is a very logical reasoning. However, the company has no way of selectively censoring employees; hence it is the only logical way through it is by using web content filter programs.

Others think that the use of web content filter programs mean that the company does not trust its employees. After all, isn't a memo or a reminder enough to make employees comply to office rules? In this respect, many companies believe that the use of a web content filter implies that employees cannot be left to their own devices. Also, the use of web content filter can also filter out websites and content that can be potentially useful to work. Not all filters are perfect, and the filters might block out websites that do not fully fit what employees think should be blocked.

However, despite all these concerns, it is still undeniable that internet filter programs are still useful and can still promote productivity in the office. It is an undeniable fact that many people do visit websites unrelated to their work, and that this activity can be detrimental to the overall operations of the company. Internet filter programs cannot promise to fully screen everything out and it cannot immediately or directly increase office productivity. Nonetheless, using such programs is one way to ensure that risk of office time wastage is minimized.

Consider this: should one reconsider using vulnerability scanning programs simply because of the slight chance that it can hinder one's online freedom? Should one risk online safe by not using vulnerability scanning programs simply because of this minor setback? Companies and organizations should embrace technology and use programs such as these to make sure that everything is in order. The Internet is not a safe place, but these programs can make it safer and more practical for everyone.
a Vulnerability scanning systems and a web content filter programs are very important today, considering how unsafe the Internet can be, and how it can eat up one's productivity. a Vulnerability scanning systems and a web content filter programs are certainly recommended for everyone.
