Having leveled 5 characters to level 80 within a month of the release of Wrath of the Lich King, I find it hard to understand why someone would pay for power leveling. There are many risks associated with these power leveling services that you must understand long before committing both your account and credit card information.

* You lose control of your account. If you are allowed to play while they level your character, any time you play sets you back (and can cost you more.)
* Some of these services are not reliable. Over the years more and more scam artists are using this business model as a way to steal your account and sell off your characters and gold.
* If Blizzard gets knowledge of you powerleveling your account, they can have your account cancelled or suspended.

On top of these risks, what they offer is often less than stellar.

You can gain these skills after you regain your account, but why should you spend that extra time when you could have gained the skill naturally.
