Recently I was sitting with a peer group and suddenly a question emerged in my mind. It was – how much time is remaining until we see the demand of mobile apps finally begin to slow down. When will business owner no longer require enterprise mobile apps to support their businesses? However, at present life seems impossible with mobile apps and especially for business owners because they are all gearing up to bring their products and services into the pockets of their customers. But there will be a time when customers would get bored from enterprise apps. If we go towards the past, we would realize how enterprise mobile apps and app development companies took the business world by surprise with the introduction of Apple and Android app stores. They gained momentum being backed by companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, and Samsung who presented their apps and dedicated app stores as well. This made it easier for entrepreneurs and app developers to develop apps and submit in any or all app marketplaces.

... However, they are unsure about post 2020 era, and have no clue about what would replace mobile apps, as it has always been the trend that a better technology replaces and existing technology. We saw how the arrival or smart phones and tablets ended the need of desktops and laptops. However, they are sure that the rate at which technological advancement is going on; there would surely be a new technology era, where business owners will not even require mobile apps. They are confirmed that we have eight more years to enjoy and use mobile apps to their fullest capabilities.

I discussed this question with one of my app developer friends. He said the same that I had stated above. He told that he is not sure about how his life would be without mobile apps. He added jokingly that the only reason that would stop him from using these apps is him passing away from the world. I too feel the same because at present, apps are helping business owners in transforming their business and possibilities and capabilities of enterprise business apps are endless. There are numerous uses of mobile apps. People use them for entertainment, business, shopping, bill payments, locating places, healthcare services, social networking, chatting and several other purposes. My friend further said that as long as there are smart phones and tablets, the demand of mobile apps would be the same or head towards the north.

As stated previously, at present it is really hard to answer the question asked in the beginning, as experts are themselves in a conflicted state of mind about the future. The only thing they are sure about is that mobile apps are reigning over business world currently and would continue to do so in the future. Thus, if we predict the future for next 3-4 years, it looks glorious for mobile apps. Business owners would continue to demand for more effective and contextual enterprise mobile apps thus, helping the app development industry grow. I feel that the coming years would definitely be crucial, as there is a lot of advancement going on in the smart phone and tabs industry. Recently launched iOS 7, iPhone 5S and the upcoming next-Gen iPad are the best examples of the technological innovations that I mentioned.
