Rules For Keeping Your Vacation With Friends Worry-free
They may be your best friends, but when it comes to preparing a trip with them, expect the worst. The thing about a vacation with other people is that it can be a little more complicated than the usual. Since you are considering not just your own ideas and desires but other people's as well, the whole trip can get messy and at the end, it can fail miserably.
To avoid that, here are a couple of rules to keep in mind the next time you plan a vacation with friends:
Rule Number 1: Be Open
Given that the trip is not just yours alone, it's important that everyone has a say about every major detail of the trip. This includes the itinerary, accommodation, transportation, and even the participants of the trip. Yes, it helps that everyone is completely fine about the group of people they'd be joining in. So do away with exes or secret enemies because they are bound to ruin your vacation with awkwardness and passive-aggressive behavior.
Openness extends to the decision-making process, so for every major decision, be sure that everyone is in it. Among the things to discuss is the place you ...
... will be staying in throughout your vacation. Ask the group if they want to stay together in a rented house, individually in cheap hotels, or as a group in last minute hotels. Gather the consensus and stick with it.
Rule Number 2: Consider Your Company at All Times
Since you have decided to take this vacation with friends, you might as well follow through with it. This means that you should always think about the friends you tagged along with. One way to do that is to be sociable. Do not just stay in the cheap hotel paris or any other city has; go out there and engage in activities with your friends. Go to a museum, shop, attend a concert, play a sport, or dine at a fancy restaurant—do any of these together with a friend. Having said all these, it is worth noting that none of you must impose a certain activity for everyone to do. For instance, if you wish to go shopping and nobody else feels like doing it, then do not insist.
This rule also applies to your budget. If your budget can pay for expensive dinners but your friends' cannot, then do not try to make it happen. Unless you're willing to pay for everyone's dinner without making them uncomfortable, then just compromise to what the group can handle.
