Where Can I Travel In Bulgaria?

If you haven't been back to Bulgaria in a while, it's time to visit again! If you have never been there, now's the time to go to this beautiful and fun filled country! Not only does Bulgaria offer you the best value for your holiday funds, but there is also truly something for everyone! Bulgaria is a country that is sited in the Balkans on the western side of the Black Sea and is bordered by Romania, Serbia, Republic of Macedonia, Greece and Turkey. There are several cities in this beautiful country and they include Sofia, which is the capital, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas and Rousse. You can get around this gorgeous country either by buses (which are the cheapest and fastest way to travel), train, taxi or by plane. This beautiful county covers an area of approximately 110,910 square kilometres with a population of about 7 million. Majority of these people speak Bulgarian which is the official language though others like English and Russian are spoken.

When you are in Bulgaria, there is never a shortage of things to do. You can swim in the Black Sea as Bulgaria has over 370 kilometres of glorious coastline with sandy beaches. ...
... You can ski the slopes in Quaint Bansko which is the newest ski area set in a historical town at the foot of the Pirin Mountains. There is also Pamporovo in Rhodopi range and it is the southernmost ski resort in Europe. Do you love hiking? Take a hike along Bulgaria's 35,000 kilometres of way marked paths since a one or two week trips can be arranged through the wild mountains. If you are a mountain biking enthusiast, you can pay the Rhodopi Mountains a visit as they provide perfect trails, while cycling along the Black Sea coast is a popular family activity. You can get back to nature in Bulgaria's national parks and these include the ancient Bailusheva pine forests and limestone rocks in Pirin National Park, the seven lakes and 10th century monastery in Rila National Park. There is also the Raiskoto Praskalo waterfall which is the highest in Balkan Peninsula.

In addition to things to do, there is plenty to see and explore in Bulgaria and the Nevski Memorial Church is one of them. It is a stunning gold-leaf domed building and it is famous along with the 6th century St Sofia and the Museum of archaeology just close by. You can explore the fascinating vast collection of murals, woodcarvings, old weapons and bibles written on parchment at Rila Monastery, which is just 121 kilometres from Sofia. You can also explore the Batchkovo Monastery 8 kilometres from Plovdiv, founded in the 11th century with some rare frescoes, icons, manuscripts and coins. Visit the ancient museum town Veliko Turnovo, capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire situated on three hills circled by the river Yantra. It contains extraordinary collections of historic works of art, including church relics.

The nightlife of Bulgaria is excellent with some restaurants having folk dancing and music. There is also Opera performance at the State Opera House in Sofia as well as in Plovdiv and other cities but you can also listen to classical concerts performed by local orchestras or the National Folk Ensemble. There is also a thriving nightclub and bar scene with, Sofia, Bourgas, Plovdiv and other resorts pumping out great music including local and international sounds. There are many hotels in Bulgaria as well as guest houses, camping and caravanning therefore accommodation is not a problem here.
