Many schools have stopped teaching students cursive due to the dominance of computers in everyday life. While computer skills are necessary in today's society, handwriting with pen and paper shouldn't be ignored because you still need to be able to write cursive when signing a document, check, credit card bill, buying a house or car, etc. Being able to write in cursive is a sign of being educated.

You can actually tell a lot about your friend, loved one or co-worker by studying their penmanship. Your cursive penmanship reveals certain characteristics you possess.

You can glean a lot about a friend’s disposition and state of mind by looking at their cursive handwriting. For instance, the next time you’re having lunch with a friend, notice how she signs her credit card check with a personalized pen.

Did she carefully use her Bic Promotional Pens to sign her name, ensuring that every letter was recorded with a deliberate backward slant? Or did she jot down something that doesn’t look like a person’s name at all ...
... but merely a series of loops, dots and dashes?

Handwriting analysis – or graphology – is actually a practice used by companies to make hiring decisions and forensic detectives to collect clues to help solve cases.

Of course, the ancient art of calligraphy is a celebration of beautiful penmanship. But despite its long-held history, some schools are deciding not to teach cursive to their students but instead to focus on math, science and reading. After all, with so many electronic devices available today, do we need to know how to write in cursive?

Penmanship proponents champion the tradition of learning cursive in schools, and some say there has been a revival of interest in calligraphy among today’s young people who enjoy using bic promotional pens and personalized pens to practice their skill.
