The advent of computers and the technology that came with has become a highway of opportunities for many people. As information technology developed, many jobs related to computerization and management information systems came up, and courses allied to the implementation of computerized systems became available. People who have the right skills are always guaranteed of good paying careers in the IT systems. Here are some secure jobs the information technology continuous to offer:

1. Software Developers

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), opportunities for software developers will increase. The BLS did not say when this is expected to happen though, but it says jobs for developers who specialize in systems will rise by 32 percent. On the other hand, 28 percent is the expected increase of opportunities for developers specializing in applications.

Developers are responsible for creating new programs or upgrading existing ones. They are the ones who develop spreadsheet, word processing, payroll, and other programs that we use to make our work easier.

As a developer you do not need to write programming code. But you should possess strong programming skills for this job because it requires you to work closely with programmers.

2. Database Administrators

Database administrators are responsible for the efficient storage, organization, and processing of important data. This is comprised of records from all departments including human resources, accounting, payroll, and management information systems.

Database administrators work closely with department managers in order to find the best way to setup the company's databases. Many companies want their database administrators to possess a degree in computer science or business administration.

3. Computer Administrators

The computer administrator is tasked to oversee and maintain computer hardware. They are also responsible for the efficient performance of the machines. For this reason, computer administrators should have a good understanding of operating systems and other software.

Computer administrators are not strictly required to have a bachelor's degree to get the job as long as they are equipped with a solid background and experience of computer operating systems and hardware management.

4. Systems Analyst

A systems analyst is responsible for formulating effective company methods that sits well with company requirements. They scrutinize the IT needs of the installation in order to efficiently provide management with data such as cost analysis, time and motion, materials management, and other information. This can help them formulate effective strategies to maximize productivity at the least possible cost. Systems analysts are always on the lookout for new ways and technologies to improve company systems. The job of a systems analyst requires a degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science.
