If you've read any business books or taken business classes in school, you may be familiar with the idea of a unique selling proposition or USP. If you can develop this skill, you will be able to do well in business. Let's discuss this for a second. Thinking about your business, and how you would make it more appealing to your customer base, is one of the first things that you need to do. It doesn't necessarily have to be something major or earth shattering. For example, some businesses make customers want to shop with them by offering coupons for another product or service. Whatever you are marketing, try to come up with a USP ...
... that will separate you from the competition. One of the most important characteristics of an entrepreneur is the ability to spot opportunities before anyone else. This doesn't take rocket science, regardless of what a lot of people think. Anyone can train themselves to recognize potential opportunities, although some people are better at it than others. You just have to keep your eyes open and look for them. Find out what types of problems those in your industry, or field, or having for which they want to find a solution. Search for, and identify, any new product or service that is lacking in your field. Naturally, every idea you come up with may not work out, but keep track of any you have nonetheless. This will train your mind to spot many potential opportunities, and some will turn out to be profitable.

You must not hesitate to take risks if you are an entrepreneur. Anyone who starts a new business, whether they are experienced or not, will have to face uncertainty. Fear of failure stops a lot of people from even trying to start a business. Don't let this happen to you. This doesn't mean you should approach business like a gambler. It's important to take calculated risks - those based on research and information that you can trust. If you hesitate to take risks, and only follow a path that you are sure will not fail, you most likely
won't be a very successful entrepreneur. You have to "step outside of the box" and try different methods beyond your comfort zone.

Do you want to be an entrepreneur? You need to develop the right mindset to get everything you ever wanted. If you are used to working for someone else, you're going to have to change the way you think.
