Some Of The Fundamental Aircraft Ground Support Equipments
Airport ground support equipments are used for a soothing functioning at the airport. These equipments are used to favor the aircrafts or airplanes and its related activities.
It will become unimaginable to enforce the aircrafts without GSEs. There are a number of cardinal aircraft ground support equipments; followings are a few fundamental equipments that are used at the airport -
Bag Cart or Vehicle: This is a medium size cart or vehicle, which are adopted to move travelers’ luggage and several other things to-and-fro the aircraft. The design of these carts is open, but latest of these have enclosed sides, which protects the luggage from the weather with the help of a plastic sheet.
Fuel Carrier: It is the fuel supply vehicle, which is also known as the Fuel Truck. The truck is responsible for the fuel supply into the aircrafts tank. Power Unit Vehicle: It maintains the electricity supply inside the plane, charges all its batteries.
Tugs: Tugs are small or medium sized tractors that are used by the ground support staff at the airports. These vehicles are accustomed for different reasons and purposes. Most often, tugs are adopted to move all other ground support equipments that cannot move by their own.
Transporters: These are actually large platforms that are used while loading, unloading the cargoes and containers, luggage, etc.
Transport Buses: These are used to take people on and off the aircraft. Also known as the Apron Buses, these are the regular life, but in good condition.
These are many other GSEs that are used at the airports, such as: Passenger boarding stairs, Water trucks, Air starters, Container loader, Pushback Tugs, etc.
When you think of greening the aviation industry, you probably think of efforts to reduce the use of jet fuel. But airplanes aren't the only energy-intensive machinery at the airport. There is also a movement underway to steer ground support equipment away from fossil fuels.
