Business cards are small yet effective business marketing and introductory tools that people use to represent themselves and their businesses at the time of need of introduction. There are many times when we cannot introduce ourselves orally. In all such circumstances, a written business card comes in handy to provide our introduction as well as our contact and business details. A typical business card mentions the name of the card bearer and many contact details. It also contains social media communication web addresses these days because it has become quite common these days. Company affiliation and logo is also a must for printing on business cards. Some people may also mention extra details which may help them land a sales deed in their business. People do contact people by using business card addresses. Business cards can also come in handy for us when we ourselves require an activity that can be performed by a certain professional. We can contact a professional if we contacted him or her sometime in the past and we took his or her business card. We do not have to then blindly search everywhere to find a suitable candidate ...
... for the job or problem at hand.

The best business cards can be prepared on sheet fed printing presses. These printing presses can quickly print a lot of copies of required businesses. These machines require the initial preparation of a dye but work extremely efficiently and quickly after that. This process uses spot colors which are pressed against the paper. This produces the best quality and long lasting print of colors which was not possible in the old days. More than one spot color can easily be used but the cost then is increased in this method. Many other options are now also easily available that used to be difficult in the old days. Embossed printing looks very good and it is an effective and bold printing technique which is valued by any person viewing your business card. It was difficult to achieve back in the old days but it is very easily done these days.

These days the technique of thermography is used to raise the prints higher by coating them with a plastic powder. This plastic powder is designed in such a way that it sticks to the wet colors being used for printing. This powder is then fixed to the paper by applying heating techniques just like done for prints with toner inks. There are also UV varnishes that can give the same result. The UV coating can also be used to create a design pattern of rough and smooth surface on the business card which effectively is best used to give graphical presentation to the card without using any kind of color at all.

Full color printing terminology includes terms such as 4/0, 4/1 and 4/4. These are simple terms which are explained here. 4 over 0 refer to the fact that the card is printed using 4 front colors but no print is done on the back of the card. 4 over 1 refers to the use of one color to print the back of the card while the term 4 over 4 is now generally used which means that full color printing is done on both sides of the business card.
