The beginner must be focussed as it's very easy to give up. Lots of Screenplays have never seen the light of day because the Writer has given up too easily. I am going to give you a few tips that I hope will help you write your first successful screenplay.
Firstly, your screenplay must be formatted correctly and must be written properly, no Grammatical errors or Spelling mistakes this is crucial. There would be nothing more annoying to an Agent to read a script full of Spelling mistakes and Grammatical errors. This would be a sure way to get your screenplay rejected.
There are some good software programs that can save you lots of time, one is called "Screenwriter" and "Final draft" these will take care of your formatting and leave you free to concentrate on writing your script.
Agents and Producers are extremely busy people and they won't waste their valuable time reading a script that doesn't meet the Industry standards. It is your job to make sure that whoever reads your script keeps turning the pages and stays interested so, it has to be formatted in a proper format.
This is definitely something that ...
... can't be avoided and can be the difference between your Success or Failure. When you are writing your script, make your characters likeable. Give them a personality and create unique traits for them. Audiences really like new characters that are unique and have never been seen before.
Write about what you know, if you have a lot of knowledge about a subject. write a script about that subject. If you are going to write about a subject that you don't know anything about, do lots of research. Write dialogue that's relevant to different people, As people speak differently make sure that your dialogue is entertaining don't ramble. Get to the point don't write on unnecessary lines.
Another good tip is to write your first draft of your script, then go back and read it again get a friend to read it and ask them their opinion, ask them to be honest. Take some notes, after you have listened to their critique and go and make changes to your script if possible. I hope these tips have been useful to you, and they help you to write a successful Moviescript. Writing a screenplay can be an immensely challenging endeavour. The rewards are incredible especially if your screenplay ends up being made into a movie.
