The other day, I was sitting around with some of my writing friends, a couple of which are in our think tank, and we decided we'd had enough after 10-hours, and so we all decided to go into the Jacuzzi. Just in case one of us came up with any more interesting ideas, we would write them down. Okay so, I took a pen and a notepad. We hadn't been in the Jacuzzi more than about 10 minutes and all of a sudden a brainstorming session broke out, one of the best I've ever been in actually. There were so many great ideas, I couldn't write them down fast enough.
We purposely didn't bring a digital recorder in case it might drop inside the Jacuzzi, and when I started to write down some of these ideas, I noted that my hand was wet and getting all over the notepad. It was smearing ink as I was writing, and it was just a terrible mess. I was quite worried we would forget these great ideas, and I can barely write them down as fast as they were being shot across the top of the bubbling water.
Now then, this brought me to the best innovative idea of the whole evening. Someone needs to invent a waterproof Jacuzzi notepad for writing. ...
... This could also be used in the bathtub perhaps. Consider this, when you're in a relaxed mode, your mental circuitry is more apt to come up with super great concepts while it goes through its idea generation routine.
Here is how I would design the notepad for Jacuzzi. The notepad would be inside a plastic case, therefore your hand would rest away from the paper, and any water would drip away. As you wrote you could slide your hand down which would slide the window. The window would be about three lines wide as you went the page. What you had already written would then be covered up. When you were done with that page you open it up grab ahold of the top of the notebook pad could pull it out from the top, flip the paper and slide it back in using your fingers.
This way you wouldn't get any water on the paper at all even if your hands were wet. Yes, it works and no, this waterproof Jacuzzi notepad is not something that you could submerge, but you'd be able to keep it dry almost indefinitely, perhaps you could write an entire screenplay and novel without getting any of it wet. Why be stuck at a desk all day, slaving away dealing with writer's block when you could enjoy a bubble bath or a nice soak in the Jacuzzi as you come up with your greatest ideas? Please consider all this and think on it.
