Storage solution in warehouses or places where material distribution and retail operation take place is known as warehouse racking and organizing and managing goods in such places is called warehouse shelving. Technically, both the terms are similar along with their functions. In warehouses, different types of materials in large quantities and varying sizes are handled. To keep the facility organized and ensure efficient functioning and safety of workers, warehouses should implement proper warehouse storage systems.

Warehouse storage solutions can vary depending on the vast range of options in this regard. The importance lies in being able to distinguish the difference between each of these solutions so that the most suitable solution can be chosen that can work best for a particular warehouse. Let's check out a few solutions for a better insight.
" Deep Selective Rack (single)
This system offers great flexibility and can be used in a majority of warehouses. In fact it is the preferred warehouse racking system of most warehouses.
" Deep Selective Rack ...
... (double)
This system has more storage density and is generally used in those warehouses where operations are quicker than others are.
" Pushback
As the name suggests, this one has pallets that go deep. This ensures that you get maximum amount of available space.
" Rack Designs
There are two types of rack designs. One is structural and the other is teardrop. Structural racking is suitable for warehouses with heavy duty applications. It is made of sturdy steel materials and beams are bolted to the frames for added security. This rack system is costlier than others are and installation is an expensive affair too.

Teardrop racking derives its name from the tear shaped hole which is upside down. In this system, the beams slide into the holes in the frame.

" Parts Storage
Generally, in retail operations, workers have to deal with small parts. Such warehouses have picking bins or shelf bins which are meant for small parts storage. These are available in various shapes and sizes. Such bins are of great use in warehouses that deal with vehicle machinery parts, interior construction materials etc. These are also used in factories where televisions and microwaves are manufactured or assembled and in small shops and retail supermarkets. Small parts storage shelf bins are versatile and can be used for a variety of things. These are also strong and durable and are available in a variety of sizes and colours to suit your needs.
