8 Tips To Compel Your Target Audience
With millions of blog sites all over the internet, it is very hard to ensure that people will even find your blog. However, there are certain ways you could get closer to your readers than you ever thought you would be.
Do you want to know the eight secrets on how to create a compelling content for your blogs? Simply follow these eight steps and watch your traffic increase remarkably
1. Know your target.
A compelling content starts with an effective attention-getter. And before you evaluate if your attention-getter is indeed effective, you should know first whose attention you aim to get. Know the specifics of your target audience. Ask yourself who you want to communicate with on your content.
2. Use a powerful title and a thought-provoking first sentence.
Master how to formulate titles which will spark curiosity to your target audience. Remember than an intriguing first sentence will keep your audience reading. Use strong words and a writing style that will engage the audience.
3. Use the word "YOU" (second person point of view).
Using the word "you" makes the entry sound more conversational ...
... and personal for your readers. It is as if you are talking directly to them, one-on-one, and this is a sure and easy way to get them hooked with what they are reading.
4. K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple and Sweet)
Don't be too wordy and avoid using words that will have your readers check on the dictionary every now and then. A long sentence compounded with too many ideas will surely tire your readers and make them stop reading your entry.
5. Organize your thoughts.
A sure way to drive away audience from reading your blog posts is that your entries appear to be so confusing. Create an outline that will help you organize your thoughts. Remember the four sections that a compelling content has: (1) problem your readers may be encountering; (2) cause of the problem; (3) solution you offer; and (4) how to carry out the solution.
6. Practice makes perfect.
As cliche as it may sound, practice is a sure way of perfecting something. Just keep on writing and you will notice that you get better every time - you start writing faster and your ideas keep getting more and more interesting.
7. It's OK to ask help.
Just as with everything else, it won't hurt if you ask for help. Actually, it will surely do you good if you do. If you intend to write on something technical and you have no clue about it, you should ask someone who is knowledgeable on the subject. Your credibility is at stake if you write on a subject and it turns out you have given wrong information about it. You will definitely lose readers and followers. So to avoid all these, simply ask help if you know you need one.
8. Be inspired.
Last but definitely not the least - develop the ability to get inspiration from everything around you - it may be from the conversation you overheard on your way to work, the TV series you have been watching, the song on the radio, or an event in your own life.
If you are consistently aware and inspired, you will never run out of ideas for you to write about.
