3 Reasons To Use Article Marketing To Market Your Business
As a business owner who is new to marketing your business online, you've probably heard many people talking about the positive effects of article marketing. Article marketing is when you create articles on the topic of your niche. You then submit them to online publishers along with a "resource box", which includes some brief biographical information and a link to your website.
You may have wondered, "I have been hearing so much about article marketing. What makes submitting articles such a great choice for marketing my business and website?"
That's a great question. There are multiple benefits, which I'll explain to you:
1 - People do article marketing to get a higher ranking in Google and the other search engines.
Until you get your own website, you've probably never thought about "website rankings". After you get a website though, where the pages on your site are ranked becomes very important to the success of your business.
Imagine this: You need information or help in some way. You do a search on the internet, and the search engine provides you with a list of possible web pages that might give ...
... you the information that you need. These web pages are ranked in a specific order, with the ones that the search engine thinks will have the best chance of satisfying your query appearing at the top of the list.
This is why when you search for information on the internet, you probably only visit the pages on the first page or so of the results list.
As a website owner, you can imagine how beneficial it would be if your website was ranked at or near the top of a search engine results list for search terms associated with your niche. That way, when your potential customer would come to Google to search for things having to do with your general subject matter, the pages on your website would appear high in the rankings, and would thus have a much greater chance of the potential customer clicking the link that goes to that particular web page.
This is called "search traffic"--traffic coming to your site as a result of search engine searches. Search traffic offers the most dramatic increase in website visitors because so many people are searching for things on the internet.
How does article marketing play into this? People do article marketing to help search engines know what their website is about.
If the website is clearly about a certain topic, offering valuable information that cannot be found elsewhere on the internet, and that website is marketed with free reprint articles, you can effectively help Google and the other search engines to rank your website higher in the rankings.
2 - Getting widespread exposure for your business and for yourself as an expert in your niche.
Whenever you create a free reprint article, your goal is to teach the reader something that he or she really needs to know about your niche. Oftentimes, you will be teaching your reader how to do something specific that will benefit them.
With your articles you are the teacher and your readers are the students. Whenever people read one of your articles, they form an impression about you. If your article helps them, then their trust in your grows.
The reader thinks: "This writer knows what he/she is talking about. The next time I have a question on this topic, I'll turn to this writer for the solution."
Before long, with consistent quality article submissions, you start to make a name for yourself in the online world. Your knowledge will become trusted, and the more trust that a person has in the information that you provide, the more likely he will be to trust you for other things, such as the services and products that you provide through your website.
3 - Getting traffic directly from the articles themselves.
Each time you submit an article, you will also submit a resource box--a brief biography that includes information about your business or products and a reason to visit your website. The resource box also contains a very important link to your website.
When a person reads your article and finds it helpful, it's natural that he will look at the resource box for more information and then click the link leading to your website. Since your free reprint articles will likely remain on a publisher's website for many years, each article that you submit can become a long term source of traffic for your website.
These are 3 of the main benefits to submitting articles for article marketing. The idea is to build traffic to your website, and article marketing helps do this in two different ways--through referrals from search engines and through the articles themselves. An additional benefit is that your articles can establish your reputation online as an expert in your niche, which is very helpful in building customer confidence and increasing the likelihood of making sales.
