Since the first release of iOS operating system, it has come a long way with many upgrades and innovations. Sir, Passbook, multitasking, folders for apps are some to name a few. All its previous iOS versions are pretty much the same until recently Apple has decided to release iOS 7. It is said to have a completely redesigned interfaces and has no traces of prevision iOS version’s look and feel.

Redesigned interfaces with flat and less glossy icons:

IOS-7 has been completely re-designed from the icons, colors, fonts, overall appearance and everything looks simple, fresh and clean. The home-screen now features a parallax effect. Users can easily differentiate the home-screen layer from the icon layer.

The font of iOS 7 has been tweaked to give a stronger and bold appearance whereas; pages have a translucent design such as the Keyboard, Messages, Game Center, Calendar and others. Users can view what’s happening at the back. There is also an implementation of pages for app folders.

Control center lets you access certain functionalities and features with just one swipe. Users would be able to access functionalities like Airplane Mode, Flashlight, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other simple tweaks from the control center without even unlocking the phone. IOS 7 now comes with built in torch and flashlight option. Other included features and controls include brightness, music player, AirPlay and AirDrop.
Inter iOS devices AirDrop sharing:

The AirDrop feature can now be availed across all iOS devices. It is a peer to peer file transfer service between iOS devices. By turning on the Share Sheet on an application, users can find other iOS users who are nearby and tap items to share. However, it works only with iPhone 5, iPad Mini, 5th gen iPod Touch and 4th gen iPad.
Multi Tasking:

iOS 7 brings a neat and organized multi-tasking feature for the users. Multi tasking is now visual at the bottom of the screen. It lets users to take a look at the apps which are opened. iOS 7 understands user’s app usage patterns and automatically allocates more resources to the user’s favorite apps or most frequently apps. This feature has greatly increased battery life.

iOS 7 has included ‘Intelligent Scheduling’ that allows to push updates when there is a strong network connection.
iTunes and music control

Apple has featured a new Radio app in the iTunes where users can see featured stations and songs which are new trends on Twitter. Users can also create their own stations based on the genre of the music, artist and even share it among friends.

iTunes Radio is available on Mac, PC or Apple TV and with no ads. Users can see all of their purchased music, movies over iCloud. This integration with the cloud enables accessing music from any iOS devices.
Safari browser

Safari browser now facilitates automatic full screen mode. Scrolling down the pages causes the address bar to hide automatically and just revealing the website name. Controls at the bottom also get hidden until scrolled up. The address bar now reveals Google search suggestions based on the word typed.

Safari now facilitates users to open unlimited tabs. The UI of browsing through tabs has also been tweaked for a clear view.
iCloud Keychain has been integrated to the safari to save passwords throughout the Apple products.
Faster Camera

The camera app now includes various frame shapes such as circle, square and panorama and has introduced 4 additional features when swiped from left to right i.e. Videos, Photos, and Photos in square frame for Instagram and panorama. The camera app now comes with new filters and functionality called Moments which arranges the pictures based on the locations in various groups.

Users now have access to shared photo streams as well as view comments on picture and shared videos through a Share tab.

iOS In The Car and Siri integration:

Siri is now integrated with built in Wikipedia and Bing support for search queries. Siri now comes with a male voice and can speak in French and German for now. Siri, will be coming to 12 car manufacturers by 2014 which would give eyes-free usage while driving. Users can call, play music, get direction and even read out messages.

Although iPhone app development for iOS 7 is still with the beta version, it has shown some promising results when it will be released officially. iOS 7 will be released for iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPad 2nd generation, iPad Mini and 5th generation iPod Touch.
