Where Can I Travel In Tanzania?
You have probably been looking for the perfect place for a while, perhaps weeks if not months! Well, here is the good news; you do not have to look any more! Tanzania is the perfect African country to visit, whether you are a family, couple or a group of single people. Tanzania is located in East Africa and borders Kenya to the north and is the largest country in East Africa covering an area of 943,000 square kilometres comprising both the mainland and the Zanzibar Archipelago. She has a population of 37,187,939 and the official languages are Swahili and English; the latter is used mostly in commercial activities. Tanzania is a large country and the mode of transport should be a vital choice. There are a variety of transport systems that you can use to traverse this country; you could get around by air, water, rail or road.
Tanzania has some world-famous attractions and once you are here, the only time you will rest is when you are having a good night sleep. You can walk to the very top of Africa and watch the sun rise over Mount Kilimanjaro; here there are numerous organised climbs, for periods of five or six days, with ...
... guides and porters provided. In this magnificent country, there is an 804 kilometre coastline where you can kick back on the many beaches some of which are within easy reach of Dar es Salaam like Kunduchi, Mbwa Maji and Mjimwena. You can also go scuba-diving and snorkelling around the island of Zanzibar and Pemba which are ringed by coral reefs. Further south, Mafia's Chloe Bay is part of the protected marine park with an unbroken reef running the length of the island.
Are you into safaris? You can go on safari in the unique Ngorongoro Crater which is 610 metres deep, 20 kilometres in diameter and covers 311 square kilometres. This crater is home to almost every species of African plains mammals and has the densest population of lions in Africa. Take a hot air balloon ride over the endless plains of the Serengeti National park where one of the world's great natural spectacles, the annual migration of two million wildebeests can be observed. You can go tracking chimpanzees in the Gombe Stream or Mahale National parks on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Gombe is home to about 200 chimpanzees and Mahale is home to 700 chimpanzees therefore sightings are guaranteed. If you want to spot buffalos, giraffes, the black and white colobus monkey and the warthog, you can take a walk on the lower slopes of Mount Meru in Arusha National Park which is one of the few parks where walking is permitted.
Do not dare leaving Tanzania before tasting the exceptional cuisine that the natives of this nation prepare. Most hotels here serve local food which usually consist of meat stews or fried chicken accompanied by staples including deep fried potatoes, boiled potatoes or ugali ( maize meal porridge eaten all over Africa). Tanzania has a limited nightlife but in Dar es Salaam, there are several nightclubs, cabaret venues and cinemas. Generally, nightlife is centred on the top tourist hotels and restaurants on the coast, which often feature bands at the weekends and dances on the beach. Accommodation in Tanzania ranges from expensive hotels to lodges, from guest houses to camping and caravanning as well as youth hostels. For a holiday that is sure to get the muscles relaxed and the mind at peace, Tanzania is where you heart will go and where your heart will stay.
