Mastering Copywriting - How To Write An Article Just Like A Professional
If you need content for your website or ezine, you might think that you need the services of a professional copywriter. Sure, hiring a professional copywriter is great if you can afford it, but if you can't, then you'll need to write the articles you need on your own. The good news is that it's not as difficult as you might think! By following a few basic rules, you can write articles just like a professional copywriter.
Rule One: Remember the 5 w's of writing: "Who, what, when, where and why?" By answering these questions in your articles, you're sure to provide the reader with everything they're looking for on a particular subject.
Rule Two: Find your voice: Voice is an element that every article has yet is hard to pinpoint. Some articles will require a serious presentation of the facts, while others are written with a more casual tone. Understanding the appropriate voice to use is crucial when it comes to writing an effective article.
Rule Three Be concise : Rambling on with too many details is one of the most commonly made writing mistakes. It is often tempting to cram as much information into your article ...
... as you can. To avoid this, simply craft each paragraph around a main point and don't deviate from your outline.
Rule Four: Don't be afraid to try various formats: Using bulleted lists, for example, can be a great way to add interest to an article and offer readers the information they need in an eye-catching and easily read format. Lists can break up the monotony of a lengthy article and keep a reader's attention.
Rule Five: Always, always proof read: Check your articles for spelling errors, because there's nothing that detracts from credibility and professionalism like misspelled words. Read over your article to make sure it flows as efficiently as possible and sounds the way you want it to. In addition to Spell Check, many word processing programs offer grammar checkers also.
Rule Six: Find the writing style that works best for you: Some writers prepare detailed outlines and summaries before writing their articles. Others just start writing and figure things out as they go. Every writer has their own distinct preferences when it comes to crafting articles. After you've written a few, you'll start to find the technique that works best for you.
Rule Seven: Have confidence in your abilities: You don't need to be a professional writer to produce articles like a pro. If you're passionate about what you're writing about and can put words together, then you can write a great article. All it takes is a little creative thought and some practice.
Revise until you get it right!
By remembering these seven basic tips, you can quickly and easily learn how to write articles that are just as effective as ones created by professional copywriters. Keep practicing, because the more you write, the easier it will become!
