GMAT is acronym for Graduate Management Aptitude Test and is recognized globally for admission in 5000+ business and management courses in over 100 countries. Proficiency in English is tested through essay writing and comprehending written material. Essay writing enables the student to showcase his/her views and perceptions on various issues. Creative and positive writing enables the student to score higher. It tests the student's ability to understand statements in the passage and what the student interfere from the given passages. Critical reasoning questions analyze the student's reasoning skills in interpreting and evaluating arguments and the section of correction of statements evaluates the student's ability to understand the errors in the statement and correct them.

The Integrated reasoning section was introduced in 2012 and focus on analysis of data and has 12 questions altogether and 30 minutes are assigned for solving this section. Analytical writing is scored between 1 and 6 and tests the student of interpreting an argument. The verbal section is assigned 41 questions to be solved within 75 minutes time frame whereas the quantitative section is given 75 minutes to solve 37 questions.

GMAT specifically tests the intelligence of the student and no question repeats from previous papers. Mathematical and algebraic section can be cracked easily if the student is thoroughly versed in high school formulas. This section has a scoring range between 0-60. In order to take GMAT, one must register online at mba.com or should approach center that are designated to take GMAT. An appointment is then made and exam is scheduled. The test cannot be attempted again within 31 days. The fee for the exam is set at $250. Coaching centers charge differently to provide preparation for GMAT. Daily practice and browsing online GMAT forums help students prepare well for GMAT.
