The Recipe To Make Red Velvet Cupcakes From Scratch

Everyone loves cupcakes. They’re the best dessert you can try and their size makes it easier for you to eat them whenever you like! Try out this recipe with a hot cup of coffee and taste the wonder!

Ingredients For Cupcake Recipe:

• ¾ cups of sugar
• ¼ cup of butter, room temperature
• 1 egg, room temperature
• 1 ¼ cups of cake flour
• 1 tablespoons of cocoa powder
• ½ teaspoon of baking soda
• ½ teaspoon of baking powder
• ¼ teaspoon of salt
• ½ cup milk
• ¾ tablespoons of red food colouring
• ½ teaspoon of vanilla essence
• ½ teaspoon of distilled white vinegar plus a ½ tablespoon

Ingredients For Frosting Recipe:

• ¼ cup of butter, room temperature
• 4 ounces of Philly cream cheese, room temperature
• 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar
• ½ teaspoon of vanilla essence

Directions For Cupcake Recipe:

1. Start of your recipe by making the buttermilk. Add the tablespoon of vinegar to milk and let it stand for 15 minutes.

3. Beat the butter and sugar in a blender or food processor for a little while until it’s light and fluffy. Make sure you don’t beat it at maximum speed for the best recipe.

4. Whish in the eggs, careful and slow and keep beating until each is fully mixed. Without an even combination, the cupcake recipe won’t bake perfectly.


5. In a separate bowl, mix in the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Sift together to make sure there are no lumps in the recipe.

6. In another separate bowl, mix together the buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla essence and red food colouring.


7. Keep mixing these two different mixtures together in a separate bowl for the recipe, part by part. For a thorough combination, be brisk.

8. Scoop into cupcake bowls halfway.


9. Bake for just over 20 minutes and poke occasionally to see if it comes out clean. Once it does, your recipe will be fully cooked.

10. Remove it from the oven, keep it aside and allow it to cool completely.

1. Mix and whisk the butter and cream cheese together evenly and thoroughly for the cream cheese frosting recipe.

2. Add in the vanilla extract and mix again.


3. Stir in the powdered sugar according to your taste for the recipe.

4. Spread the frosting on the completely cooled cupcakes.
