Established in 1727 the vibrant city of Jaipur happens to be the first planned city of India. Widely known as the ‘Pink City of India’, Jaipur has a magnificent historical past and a rich cultural heritage. 1. City Palace - City Palace used to be the abode of the royal family of Jaipur. It comprises of courtyards, gardens, and buildings which is a unique blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The Peacock Gate is worth seeing having detailed workmanship featuring bright peacocks. The royal family resides in the Chandra Mahal at present. Inside the palace complex lays a museum, art gallery, and interesting displays of royal costumes and old Indian weapons.

3. Galta Monkey Temple - It is a holy Hindi temple which is now in ruins situated amidst two granite cliffs. It is ouside the Galta Pol near Agra Road. The temple is part of a larger temple having three sacred pools where numerous monkeys gather to swim and bathe.
4. Jal Mahal - It is a small palace situated in the middle of the Mansagar Lake on the way to Ajmer. A paved causeway will lead you upto the magnificent water palace.
5. Nahangarh Fort - Built in 1734 by Maharaja Jai Singh II the fort is situated on a hilltop 600ft above the city. The fort served as a military base for the emperor. The walls are located along the ridge and within the fort lies Hawa Mandir and Madhavendra Bhawan which the Raja built for housing his nine wives.
6. Jaigarh Fort - Located on a hill top overlooking the city of Ajmer lays Jaigarh Fort. It was built by Jaisingh II in 1726. The world’s biggest cannon on wheels – the Jai Ban built during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Jaisingh is a major attraction here.
7. Amber Fort - Also known as “The Fortress Palace” it is one of the most important of all Rajput cities. It is located on a steep hillside overlooking the strategic pass that led to the kingdom of Kachhwaha Maharajas from the Mughal territories to the north. It was the ancient capital of the Kacchwaha Rajputs from the 12th century until the foundation of Jaipur in the early 18th century.
