Michael Cohn, co-author of the dog picture book “Bash and Lucy Fetch Confidence,” (www.BashAndLucy.com) has begun reviewing kids’ books about dogs from a 5-year-old’s point of view. The reviews are helpful to parents of children age 4 to 8—as well as to young readers age 4 to 8.

In one of his first reviews, he covers “Good Dog Carl,” along with his friend, Mia, who is 13. You can watch his video review here:

“Good Dog Carl,” he says, is especially great because there are so few words. Readers get to make up their own story, which Michael thinks is fun. The book is also really funny, he says. He likes the fact that the dog and baby put on Mom’s makeup, dance together, and clean up. It’s really funny when the baby swims in a fish tank, with the dog’s help, he says.

In future reviews, Michael plans to cover “Lucy Rescued,” “Henry and Mudge,” and some of the Charlie and Lola books that include dogs.
