What To Do And What Not To Send During Removals

In the process of setting up the home you may have collected small and big items in huge numbers, some useful, some not so useful. And when the need to shift home arises you may find yourself grappling with just too many things on hand. Depending on whether you are moving within the city, to another state or to another country you may want to keep or dispose these items away. If you are moving within city and do not have the time to sift through all the things make sure you pack unwanted things or things that you are not currently using in one box and all other important things into another box.
Following are some more such tips from expert Waverton Removalist that may seem very obvious however with so many things happening, you may easily forget them.
- When packing delicate items like decorative pieces and kitchen cutlery (the glass and ceramic kind) keep all the items in one place. Wrap each separately in packing paper and keep in paper balls to avoid them from rubbing against each other and breaking. Glassware, ornaments and other such delicate items should ...
... be wrapped in tissue or kitchen roll first and then wrapped in newspaper. Remember to mark the box “fragile – handle with care” or “Glass items inside” on all sides of the boxes. Also preferably mark which side should be up
- When packing soft furnishings and clothes avoid mixing heavy items with these. For instance the sharp corners of a folding table or chair can easily damage the furnishing on your sofa if they are packed together. Waverton Removalist have experienced personnel handling all your items deftly but any precaution taken during shifting is a good insurance
Things you should never pack with your other items
- Cash, jewellery and similar high value items. Some people feel it will be safe in their safes and lockers and tend to leave it in them while shifting, Waverton Removalist strong advice is never do this
- Important documents – like house sale deeds, any other property papers, graduation certificates and any other similar certificates, even your bank documents should never be packed with your other items
- Food stuff especially liquid should never be transported. Dry items like spices, sugar and salt can be left as it is if they are in bottles and the caps and screws are fitted tightly on the jars. Make sure there is no spillage
- Also avoid transporting other liquids like paints etc. And if you are unable to dispose off them make sure they are packed safe in leak-proof containers. Put them into plastic bags before keeping in the cartons and avoid mixing these with other household items especially furnishings and clothes.
