It seems like every year, more and more people turn to online dating. Is it a bad thing? Absolutely not. Almost 99% of the time, experiences with online dating are positive. Let's say you try online dating and do not find a partner. No worries, because throughout using online dating, you will make friends. Now, on the more positive side, many people meet their soul mates online, and go off to get married. When many people hear online dating, they laugh. My question to these people is Why? Sometimes the person that is meant for you is not within meeting distance, and this is when online dating comes on. Online dating gives you the chance to meet these people!
To elaborate further, I will outline some more advantages of online dating. First of all, you are able to meet people from all over the world, be it men or women. This is much different than sticking to your own geographic area by going to the local bar or restaurant. When it comes to the online world, the whole world is connected. On another note, there is a lot less hassle with online dating. No need to get dressed and leave the house to meet the person. All you have to do is relax in front of your computer and chat away. You can meet several people in one night, whereas this is not possible with real dating. Many people are also not the best looking. As we all know, looks should not play a role in love and dating at all, but sadly they do. For the people who are not as good looking, online dating allows you to get other people interested in you, prior to seeing what you look like. Once you fall in love with someone, it is hard to get out!
Now, obviously with such a perfect service such as online dating, advantages will come along with its many advantages. There are several dating websites that do not allow users to put photographs of them self up. As mentioned before, looks are not important when it comes to love and dating, but people will usually want to see who they are talking to. Also, with online dating, people come and go. Why? Well, once someone finds a lover through the online dating website, they will probably never use it again. Obviously we should be happy for that person, but that leaves one less candidate for you. The last, and probably biggest downside, is location. If you find a person you would like to be with, and they live in a different area city, or even country than you, you need to make a decision together. You need to decide where you two will live.
