Tired of looking for a suitable place or destination where you can sit down and relax with no disturbances? Or you are planning to take your family on an unforgettable vacation experience? Don't hesitate to pay a visit to the lovely country of Guinea and sample what she has to offer.

With an estimated population of over 10.2 million people Guinea is a remarkable country with very warm, genuine people but little infrastructure. This country also boasts of having vast resources of gold, jewel and metal. The official language spoken in Guinea is French inclusive of other prevailing ethnic languages like Susu, Pular and Malinke. It is home to the fabulous capital city of Conakry.

Guinea's landscape is just spectacular. The country has some of the world's few remaining tropical dry forests, and the rainforests that remain in the south and are lush and verdant and full of wildlife hence the bottomless love Guineans have for their country. The waterfall-rich Fouta Djalon Plateau in the west has breathtaking scenery and some of the best hiking places in West Africa. Guinea is not well endowed with beaches, but the ones ...
... she has are superb; though often empty. The capital, Conakry has a vibrant nightlife that you can party all night through in some famous clubs and restaurants. That is why Conakry is considered to be safer than most other West African capitals.

Guinea has some fascinating hotels you can book yourself upon arrival. They comprise of Hôtel Camayenne, Hôtel Central, Hôtel César, Hôtel Océane, the Hôtel du Niger, the Hôtel Kaporo, the Beach Hôtel Mariador Park, the Hôtel Mariador Résidence, and the Hôtel Mixte. These hotels are fabulous. For example the Mariador hotels that are run by the French are an ideal place to go. The prices are affordable, the service is excellent, and the staff is generally very friendly; you can stay there for as long as you like.

You will be able to dine on delicious cultural foods from Guinea as well as from the rest of Africa. If your taste buds would prefer something extra international, then there are many other choices readily available for you as well. The beef in Guinea is very good, and is highly recommended. Pork isn't served here in Guinea due to the vast Islamic religion that dominates here. Some of the local beverages that you will find in most of Guinea's pub and restaurants include the Skol lager beer, canned European beers and bottled mineral water among other soft drinks.

Pay a trip to view some of the amazing attractions like the Mount Nimba, the Beach on Iles de Los and the monument that commemorates the 1970 military victory over the Mercenary invasion. There are various things you can do in Guinea like engaging in a football game along the beaches or go for swimming and hiking at the spectacular Fouta Djallon region. You can also wind surf on the ocean waters or go camping. Transport is an array of choices ranging from taxi cabs within the town to private yachts along the country's coastline for a tour on the waters. Buy some African artifacts and regalia from the country's open-air market and definitely become one of the Guineans.

Although Guinea is one of the wettest countries in West Africa the best time to visit is around November and December, after the rains but before the dusty Harmattan winds spoil the good views.
