Emini futures trading has become popular. While S&P has always been at the top in Emini trading, Russell Emini futures too are getting attention from the traders.

Most investors often trade stocks without trading the intangible items. The trend of trading the intangible items such as futures has grown whereby there is more flexibility as they can be traded online. Russell Emini futures are not widely known in the world of trading futures contracts. E-mini futures are smaller contracts that offer an investor better chances of trading without too much risk of the capital.

Advantages

Traditional futures contracts comprised of mainly currencies, energies, grains, and metals. However, there is growing popularity of E-mini contracts among investors due to the multiple advantages that come along with trading them. The major advantage that these contracts offer is minimized risk. Most traders incur huge losses as a result of trading in highly leveraged futures such that they can easily lose most or all of their capital even in a single trade. Though highly leveraged trading offers higher profits, the ...
... drawback is the high losses that come along in case of a failed prediction. E-mini futures offer traders with a 1:1 leverage such that you only risk what you can afford, thereby relatively less profits and minimized losses.

Differences with standard futures

As a result of the low leveraging, these contracts are of smaller sizes compared to traditional or standard futures. Trading in these futures requires lesser initial margin to open a trade compared to the standard contracts. This enables a trader to use less equity to open an order. In trading, all commodities have symbols that are unique. E-mini contracts usually have a symbol that starts with the letter "X" while symbols of standard contracts start with the letter "Z". For instance, a standard corn contract would have its symbol as "ZC" while that of an E-Mini corn contract would be "XC".

Currencies in E-Mini contracts

In these contracts, currencies usually offer an amount half the size of a standard contract. For instance, the initial margin required to open an order in an E-Mini contract would be 50% of a standard contract. In a similar way, an E-Mini contract will yield half the profit yielded by a similar standard contract. In the same, an E-Mini contract will yield half the loss yielded by a similar standard contract.

Trading systems

There are many trading systems that necessitate trading E-Mini contracts. They have different capabilities so an investor chooses a trading system that best suits his or her trading needs, with amount of capital at hand taken into consideration. In day trading systems, usually preferred by many Russell Emini traders, traders get a chance to open and close orders in the same day. This is due to the fact that intraday margins are lower compared to overnight margins. Thus, intraday margins would require less capital to open orders or else positions.
