Did you know you could take an exciting bus tour from Las Vegas or Phoenix to see the Grand Canyon? Seeing the Grand Canyon by bus can be a terrific experience. The bus combo tours are especially fun to experience. These give you a unique perspective of the Grand Canyon at an affordable price.

Las Vegas Coach Tours

Before booking anything, travelers coming from Vegas need to settle on which rim (West or South) they want to see. The South Rim ride is much longer at 5 hours while the West Rim is just a 2 hour ride.

Bus tours pull out from Vegas 365 days a year, including all holidays. The bus tours are all-inclusive so they include the park fees, taxes, professional driver and tour guide, lunch, and shuttle service to your hotel on the Strip in Vegas.

The West Rim tours are the most popular because the ride time is shorter. These points may help you decide.

1. The West Rim is where all the thrills and adventure is found.

2. The South Rim offers fantastic natural landscapes and scenic views.

West Rim

There are some really great options when it comes to combo tours of the ...
... West Rim. One of the most popular ones is the tour that includes VIP passes to the amazing Skywalk.

This amazing bridge cost $30 million to build and is constructed from over 40 glass panels each costing $250,000 so you can walk out 70 feet from the rim and peer down 4000 feet below you!

To protect the glass, travelers aren't allowed to take any personal electronics (including cameras or cell phones) onto the Skywalk. I bet you're wondering about photographs, but you can use one of the on-site professional photographers. The photographs are beautiful so be sure to get one to commemorate your trip

You can also choose a bus tour that comes with a thrilling helicopter ride to the bottom of the canyon followed by a rafting excursion on the Colorado River. It's a unique experience because the West Rim is the only place in the National Park where choppers are allowed to land on the bottom.

About The South Rim

There aren't as many South Rim combo tours coming from Vegas. That's because the ride to the South Rim is so long, you can't really add on a long rafting tour, plus choppers can't land on the bottom of the canyon there.

What you can do, however, is take an exhilarating helicopter flight from the South Rim to the North Rim and back, right through the canyon's widest, deepest section, Dragoon Corridor.

Tours from Phoenix

The West Rim is too far away from Phoenix, so if you depart from there, you can only go to the South Rim. Before arriving at the Park, Phoenix tours do make a stop at renowned Sedona, Arizona. In my opinion, the 30-minute 'copter flight is a must-do optional add-on.

Get Your Seats Early

Touring the Grand Canyon by bus is the most economical option. Still, there is no need to pay full price. For instance, get your seats early, try to get them at least a week ahead of time. Also, the lowest rates are on the Internet. Complete the entire transaction on the tour company's site and you'll qualify for a special online rate!

You will have a fantastic time on one of these bus combo tours. Taking in the scenic views is great, but your trip is even better when you add in a chilling walk on the glass bridge, helicopter ride, or a float trip along the river.
