Jawaddi Taksal
Sant Baba Sucha Singh Ji the founder of Jawaddi Taksal, was born in 1948 A.D. in village Jamiatgarh Bhalle, Distt. Ropar (Punjab).Baba Ji's father was Bapu Nagina Singh Ji and mother Mata Dhan Kuar Ji. Love for God, recitation of Gurbani, following Sikh way of living and concern for betterment of the Sikh Panth/Qaum was in his blood, inculcated by his God loving parents. Baba Ji's parents were having unshakable faith in the home of Sri Guru Nanak. Baba Sucha Singh Ji served Sant Baba Isher Singh Ji Rara Sahib Wale for some period of time, got blessings from there and following sacred hymn" came to the multicultural Ludhiana city.
Sant Baba Sucha Singh formed a committee on the usage of Râgas’. The great musician, Pt. Dalîp Chander Bedî headed this committee. Pt. Bedi not only gave direction to the collective thought of the scholars but also created new forms of Râgas from the ancient religious books through his deep and vast knowledge of music. The other members included Principal Rajinder Singh of Lucknow, head advisor of Râga Darbar Committee, Bhâî Avtâr Singh of Delhî, Bhâî Tejpâl Singh (Singh Bandhû) of Delhî, Bhâî Prithîpâl Singh Kang of Indore, Bhâî Baldev Singh of Amritsar, Dr Ajît Singh Paintal of Delhî, Principal Baldev Singh of Delhî, Prof. Kartâr Singh of Ludhiânâ, Prof. Paramjot Singh of Mullânpur, Prof. Charanjît Singh of Ludhiânâ, Principal Chanan Singh Majboor, Ustâd Jaswant Singh Bhanwrâ, Bîbî Jasbir Kaur, Principal Shamsher Singh Karîr of Patiâlâ, Dr Jagîr Singh Chandîgarh, Prof. Harchand Singh, Prof. Avtâr Singh (Nâz), and Dr Gurnâm Singh of Punjâbî University Patiâlâ.
The divine blessings showered on Sant Bâbâ Suchâ Singh ultimately ushered in the form of a unique Religious Musical Conference. After discussing with different scholars and saints some conclusions were drawn that how Gurmat Sangeet could be shaped into Râgas in accordance with Gurmat traditions’ based on the philosophy of Srî Gurû Granth Sâhib. At the initial stage, it was noticed that the divergant views existed amongst various musicians regarding the unsystematic (shapeless) form of Râgas. This diversity could be seen in the various reference books on Sikh Religion and Creative Books on kîrtan by the fundamentalists. Accordingly, limitations in the sounds of the specific words as recorded in the literature of musicians that how words could be gripped in notes/ tunes of music according to the specifications of music as were documented in the ancient and modern books on music.
