CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification established and first offered by ISACA in 1978. Step two - Finding requirements
You need to have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the requirements to become a CISA certified professional:
• One needs clearing CISA examination (offered twice a year).
• Submitting the application with five years of IS auditing, control or security work experience or valid substitutes.
• Agreeing to the ISACA Code of Professional Ethics.
• Also, one needs to pay yearly fee and minimum of 20 hours CPE (Continuing Professional Education) and 120 CPE's every three years.
Step three - clearing the CISA Exam
The most critical thing is to clear the CISA exam. Owing to its subjective and judgmental nature of the questions for this exam, it is considered quite tricky. The general feedback is that mostly individuals find it difficult to identify the accurate answer. The exam is of 4 hours with 200 multiple choice questions. The minimum score should be a 450, out of scaled score of 200-800 by ISACA.
According to ISACA perfect score is 800 and 200 is the lowest possible score and it signifies that only a small number of questions were answered correctly. The results are given after 8 weeks (approx.) after the test date and the official exam results are mailed to the candidates.

Step Five - the registration
You should complete the registration process once you attain complete confidence in the required domain. As CISA exam is offered just twice in a year, hence you must be aware of the actual timeline. Filling-up of the application form is also a cumbersome task. As it consists of things like meeting experience criteria (you need to have a five year work experience requirement). There are certain exclusions as well which one may use to fulfill these criteria. For one year of experience, one may substitute one year of financial audit or one year of IS experience.
