Mobile devices have exceeded desktop PC in numbers. There are more mobile phones than PCs. Because hundreds of thousands new smartphones and tablets are activated daily, the importance and need of high-quality apps is quite obvious. But not all apps getting app stores do succeed, do they? Apple has more than 750,000 apps whereas Android has more than 700,000 apps. But these big numbers do not mean that every mobile application is equally popular and receiving good downloads. There are more failed apps than successful ones. So, why are these apps failing? Maybe, this article is spotting some places where mobile application developers are lacking. Here we go-

Make a perfect plan; keep working on it until it gets matured.
The first place where most apps fail is idea. If your idea is not perfect or not treated in a right way, the app is going to be a failure. Every idea needs to be well researched for its feasibility or implementation. A mobile development is supposed to take place after a thorough research of market, target audience, marketing, development technology, etc. If things are satisfying you with respect ...
... to your idea, you can proceed with it.

The platform for developing the app
The second crucial decision to be taken is platform. When it comes to mobile application development, different platform uses different technology. For example, if you are experienced in Java, you can easily create applications for Android, but to develop the same app for iPhone, you will need the support of other developers who are well experienced in Objective C.

The app plan can go according to platform too. For example, you can expect batter monetization from a paid app if you build it for iPhone. But same paid apps will monetize less if you build it for Android. There is enough data to prove this point.

If you want to quickly get noticed your app, the good idea is you first build it for Blackberry and Windows Phone. Because these two platforms have fewer applications, your apps will quickly catch the eye of users.

Remove confusion between free and paid app
The confusion between choosing the free and paid business models needs to be removed in the early stage of planning an app. You can also build a demo app with limited features and ask users to download its paid version for the full access. Free apps easily receive a respectful number of downloads and good ratings. With limited features in a free app, you can encourage users to buy the full version that opens all the features. Still, decision on choosing the business model entirely depends on how exciting the app idea is.

Usefulness of the application
Try to add sufficient usability to an app as it is the only user-retention factor. Make the app understandable, convenient, and simple. The interface is supposed to attract users just in a glance.

Make use of social media
If you want to improve the marketing of the app, do not forget to integrate social media like Facebook and Twitter with it. If users are able to interact through social media, you will be able build a large community for your application.

Keep updating your app
Even if you have sold the app, it is your responsibility to keep updating it. Updates are meant to remove bugs and errors, and improve functionalities as suggested by users.

Follow the above mentioned advices to take your mobile application development project close to success.
