First of all, do not make the new Converse look old just at very first day. Keep patience until you use it for at least 4-5 times. It will help the shoes to attain the shape according to particular shape of different feet parts and you will feel more comfortable. Now, if you are living near the coastal area enjoy some running on the beach. Friction of fine sand will bring natural fade effect.
After using 4-5 times, plan for cleaning. Yes, I am talking about the cleaning. Use a toothbrush and rub it wet on the shoes without use of any strong detergent. It is done not for cleaning any particular spot or dirt accumulation but it is done to spread even the spot or dust accumulation. When finished, use machine dryer for rinsing and mild drying. Put the partially wet shoes in sun light; sunlight effect will deliver a mild color fading effect.
If you want new Converse shoes look old with vintage class worn style, you may use sand paper also to rub the front edges and toes fronts; however, this trick needs extra care because extra rubbing may make the shoes skin weak. Applying used oil or greasy lotion also works good to deliver immediate old look but I do not like this trick. The reason is that the greasy spots become permanent and attract more dirt, so, you need frequent washing that reduces the life of shoes. Alternatively, you may use some grey or black color scratch pens to make line marks at sides. Now rub these color lines with a moistened cloth to deliver natural look.
