Makeup Tips For Teenagers

The thought of applying makeup can be daunting for any teen. With so many colors and products to choose from, how do you know what is right for you? Once you know what's right, what is the correct way to put it on? These few simple tips will make applying makeup a breeze.
The first and most important thing to do is to start good skin care habits right away. Makeup looks so much better on healthy skin. It's important to cleanse your skin every night before bed, to get rid of any makeup, dirt, or natural oils that have accumulated during the day. It's also important to use sunscreen! Sun damage is irreparable, so start protecting your skin now. Many moisturizers have SPF protection. You should use one daily. Don't forget your lips! They can get sunburned too. Many lip balms also have sunscreen protection.
Now for the actual makeup application process Your skin is young and naturally beautiful. There's no need to cake on foundation, which will only cover up your natural glow and could potentially clog your pores. Instead, just use concealer to cover any blemishes or other areas you would like hidden. When choosing ...
... a concealer, pick one that is as close to your natural skin tone as possible. Concealer that doesn't match your natural coloring will only attract attention to the areas you're trying to cover. To apply it, simply dot it onto the area or areas you'd like covered and gently blend it in. Blending is a key part of the process. You may want to take a step back to make sure there are no visible lines. If there are, just continue blending.
You also might want to apply a little blush or bronzer. Apply it with a brush from the apples of your cheeks; find them by smiling at yourself in the mirror, to your temple. Doing it this way, you'll apply it just to the areas where the sun would naturally hit your face. This will give you a really natural look that makes you look healthy and fresh.
For your eyes, start with brown or gray eyeliner, black is probably too harsh. Carefully dot the liner between the lashes on your lower lash line. Next, smudge it gently with your finger or a piece of cotton. This defines your lashes without looking too severe. Repeat the process on top. Next you should apply a coat of brown mascara (unless your eyelashes are black, in which case you may want to use black). To apply it properly, start at the roots of your lashes. Move upwards slowly in a zigzag motion. This will help to separate your lashes so they don't dry in thick clumps.
Now it's time for your lips. Like your skin, you should be sure to take care of your lips. Condition them regularly with lip balm. In the morning you may also want to softly brush them with a toothbrush. This will remove any flakes and make your lips nice and smooth, which will make for a nice canvas for your lip color. When choosing a color, remember that neutral colors look good on any skin tone. They are also the most natural choice. For daytime, you may just want to go with a sheer lip gloss. Lipstick can be too heavy and you can run the risk of looking a little silly.
The most important thing to remember is that you can never go wrong when you go natural. You want to enhance your features, not hide them. You should start out with a little bit of makeup, since it's easier to add more than to remove excess. If you keep that in mind and follow the simple tips outlined here, you'll be ready to go!
