How To Hit Out Of A Bunker

For an average golfer, this can turn to a worse nightmare, as it can ruin you round thus costing you the game. However, with a little mastery in bunker techniques, an average golfer can improve his/ her chances of making it through the sand trap successfully. Here are some bunker play techniques that will help you overcome this challenge and turn you into a pro in no time.
1. Choose the right club.
Getting out of the sand bunker can is an uphill task for an average golfer, and the choice of the club determines the success of getting out of one. The Sand wedge club, just as the name suggests, is the recommended club of choice when in a bunker. The club is the most lofted of all the clubs in your golf bag, its design allows it to cut through the sand with ease.
2. Open club face
An open club face increases the chances of hitting your golf ball right out of the green-side sand trap. It also increases the loft on your club thus making it easier to get out of the sand bunker.
3. ...
... Open Stance.
Your stance matter a lot on how the ball is hit and it relative accuracy to the target. Having the right club with an open face and an open stance; feet and shoulders facing towards the left of the intended target line and the ball slightly back from your stance, should increase the chances of successfully hitting the ball out of the sand bunker.
4. Strike behind the golf ball.
For the best outcome, hit behind the ball about 2-3 inches behind the ball. This allows you to get beneath the shot causing the sand to spring the golf ball out of the bunker. This push gives the ball better height and improves the stopping power of the balls as it lands. The further behind you hit the ball, the further the ball will roll with minimal backspin.'
5. Swing through the shot.
Like all other golf shots, the swing holds gravity on the accuracy of the hit. You should remember to swing the ball all the way through the shot. Most player have the fear swing all though will hit the ball further, but if you adhere to the above instruction correctly, your shot is converted into height and thus landing you on to the right place.
These simple steps if followed correctly will help turn you from an average golfer into a pro, especially when it comes to bunker.
