Understanding The Different Types Of Tummy Tucks
Plastic surgery is a popular branch of medical science and only specialist doctors perform such surgeries to improve the overall structure of a human body. Plastic surgery can be conducted on a person’s nose, tummy, and almost anywhere on a human’s body part. One of the highly popular amongst such surgeries is a Tummy Tuck. This is also known as abdominoplasty and is usually carried out to reduce the size of a person’s tummy.
If there is loose skin around the abdominal area, then this surgery is conducted to get rid of the loose skin. Before you opt for such a surgery, always make sure that you know about the various types of abdominoplasty and get an idea of which one to go for to improve the shape of your tummy. There are three major types of Tummy Tucks:
Mini: As the name suggests, this is a small sized tummy tuck surgery and involves very small incision in the body. This type of surgery also removes a small portion of the loose skin and is ideal ...
... for those people who have a small belly and wish to get rid of it. This is type of surgery is usually recommended for people who are fit and healthy.
Standard: A standard or traditional tummy tuck is usually meant for healthy people with a good amount of loose skin to be removed. People who apply for this type of abdominoplasty have recently undergone a treatment to lose a great deal of body fat or it could also be opted by women in their post pregnancy stage.
Extended: If you are suffering from a great amount of lose skin around your abdominal region and your hips, or maybe on both sides of your lower back, then extended tummy tuck will be the best solution for you. Usually patients, who have been recommended this surgery also need excess fat to be removed as well.
These are the three main types of a tummy tuck surgery. The next time you have been recommended by a plastic surgeon anyone of these, you will understand the reason behind the decision. It is suggested not to opt for such a surgery on your own. Consult with a good doctor and then decide whether you would like to go ahead or not.
