Fishing Sunglasses - Perfect Eye Protection From Sun Damage
With the arrival of summer season, people start experimenting with new fashion trends whether its clothing, jewelry, handbags, sunglasses, sandals etc. The most fun comes with trying out the new designs of finishing sunglasses that make you look stylish and smart. There are wide varieties of sunglasses for both men and women. These sunglasses protect your eyes from harmful effect of ultraviolet (UV) rays of sun. These rays are of three types, the UVA, UVC and UVB.
UVA rays have longer wavelengths and easily penetrate through glass. UVB rays are one of the most hazardous, but enable to pass through glass. UCV rays don’t cross the atmosphere layers and don’t reach to the earth’s surface. Most of the people don’t bother to protect their eyes from the harmful effects of UV rays or don’t aware of them.
There is a myth that sunglasses are made to wear outside in strong sunlight, but truth is UV light can penetrate through clouds, snow, sand or water. So, it is important to wear finishing sunglasses in overcast sky, snowfall and rainy ...
... season. It is advised by the eye specialists that people with severe eye problems need to be more careful like cataract, retinal dystrophies and macular degeneration. Besides the UV protection lenses, these sunglasses come with different types of lenses such as:
Blue blocking lenses - these lenses are especially designed for the people who live in place with lots of snowfall and mist. With blue blocking lenses you can easily see the distant objects. These are popular among the hunters, skiers and boaters. Usually, these are tinted orange in color that reflects the blue light. The tinted grey sunglasses are recommended to wear while driving for proper traffic light identification.
Polarized lenses - these lenses are very useful for the people engaged in driving, skiing and fishing. Sunglasses with polarized lenses reduce the reflected glare from sunlight, especially that reflected from water or snow surface.
Photochromic lenses - these lenses automatically adjust the amount of light according to the different light conditions.
Polycarbonate lenses - Usually, these lenses are used in sports sunglasses. The polycarbonate lenses provide strong protection against potentially hazardous effects of sunlight.
Mirror-coated lenses - these lenses minimize the visible light.
Gradient lenses - the single gradient lenses are lighter on the bottom side and dark on the top. This shading reduces glare up to a great extend and enable you to see the thing clearly. Whereas the middle part of double gradient lenses is of lighter shade and top and bottom have dark shade. Single gradient lenses and double gradient lenses are recommended to drivers and sportsmen respectively.
You can choose the most suitable one from the available wide range. Along with the UV protection, there are various other key advantages of using sunglasses, like:
1. The foremost advantage is protection from the harmful ultraviolet rays that can damage the eye’s retina and cornea.
2. These glasses protect eyes from the intense light that can injure iris. Iris is the thin circular structure in eye that controls the size of pupil and amount of light reaching to retina. The rays reflected from snow or water surface can harm the retina. Sunglasses block these rays up to 97 percent and protect eyes.
3. Sunglasses enable to see the things in bright light like reflected sunlight, car’s headlamps etc. These provide protection against glare. Some surfaces reflect huge portion of light and create very bright spots which are unable to see through naked. A good quality sunglass doesn’t allow any kind of glare by using polarization technique.
Most of the sunglasses remove lights of some specific frequencies that may cause blur vision. It is important to choose a right color of sunglasses that work finely in specific circumstances.
