It's All About Efficiency In Seo And Internet Marketing
In our previous article we illustrated quite clearly how Internet Marketing is TRANSPARENT where traditional marketing such as Direct Mail, Print Advertising, TV & Radio, Billboards, Telemarketing are quite the opposite.
So, it would make sense that if you are dealing with a medium that is ultimately transparent and measurable, that you should be more efficient in your marketing efforts AND this is unquestionably true. However there are human elements that cannot be eliminated.
The human element is mainly commitment. Simply, here are those commitments:
1. CONTENT - content is the fuel that drives the search engines. Fresh, non-duplicate highly relevant content is needed for publication both on the website and off the website in such a way as to create Backlinks that the Search Engines use to measure the relevancy of your web pages. This cannot be done like a term paper or a letter to someone. In other words, it can't be done at the last minute and it can't be done in huge volumes to catch up. It has to be consistent and steady to gain the maximum relevance quotient in the eyes of the search ...
... engines.
2. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS - no one you have ever talked to or will ever talk to will know from the beginning the exact correct formula for success. However, online, you have the analytical tools to understand each and every step of the process of Internet Marketing. Clearly measuring the positions of your most important keywords are critical. But you need to know more; much more and the tools are there. For instance, the search engine rankings are really about a race to be #1 and your competitors are not sitting around doing nothing and those already on page 1 are remaining active. See it as a cross-country race from Maine to California. If you are new on the web, the page 1 folks are already in Utah and heading into Nevada while you are still in Maine. So, what is the answer? Clearly, you need to move at a rate of speed, measured in a number of ways, that is, much faster than those ahead of you. The good news is it's never too late because the online marketplace is a never ending marathon. The bad news is that you have to get going.
But Statistical Analysis goes way beyond this. You must get high on the Search Engines, but what about what your real goal is? What is the job definition of your website and what are the business goals of your online strategy? Stats provide many answers and indications as to how to get there. In brief, it tells what is working and what is not working and in real time. What this means is you can guide or manage through the process, keep measuring, keep adjusting. You aren't captive to a static print ad or mail piece. It's dynamic if something is not working, change it! This can be done at minimal cost too. How efficient is that?
You must be committed to this to make it work, however, and this point cannot be overstated. This is a process that must be relished either by you or the SEO or Internet Marketing Company you hire.
3. ESTABLISHMENT OF A PROCESS - to be ultimately successful, content, stats, measurement, analysis, all have to be woven together into a cogent, cohesive process that becomes part of the daily / weekly / monthly routine of online marketing. SEO and Internet Marketing involve fierce competition to achieve and maintain dominance visibility on Google, Yahoo and the Social Media. Your commitment to all of this as a process rather than an inspiration is really critical it's really the commitment of having a commitment.
Time is often an issue for small and medium sized businesses. Exactly how much human resources can you commit to such a process? If you have limited human resources and / or payroll resources, hiring and partnering with a Professional SEO or Internet Marketing Company will be the way to move forward.
