Three Steps To An Updated Kitchen
Even if you have a small kitchen, there can still be a lot of work involved in remodeling it. Most people opt for knocking down walls and expanding their kitchens when they need more room, but in some cases, that just isn't possible. Here is how I made the most of my small kitchen by doing some simple remodeling and replacing.
I was renovating my house and started with the job of sanding floors. I shopped around and found the best deal to rent a floor sander at my local hardware store. The cost of renting the sander was about one hundred dollars ($100). I compared this price to the nearest big box retail store (In other words - Home Depot) and found just about the same price. However, the customer service, attention to detail, and overall care given at the local hardware store was ten times greater than that of the big box super store. I obviously went with the local decision, spent a few extra dollars ($4.72 total in extra costs), but kept our local businesses going and in turn received much better customer service. The floors on the other hand did not go as easy as making a good decision on where to rent ...
... a sander.
After the floors were finally finished, I moved onto painting. Again I shopped around and found the best quality at a local Sherwin Williams. Prices were cheaper at a few of the mega stores, but Sherwin Williams had expert help, very knowledgeable, and much more eager to learn about my project - when compared to a super hardware store that was just selling cheap paint. So now at this point I had sanded the floors, painted the walls and was about to move onto my kitchen.
I started doing research on different styles of kitchen cabinets and came across a great money saving idea. RTA kitchen cabinets; RTA is not a brand name, but instead an acronym for - READY TO ASSEMBLE. The cost of these RTA kitchen cabinets was about twenty percent less than assembled cabinets. At first I thought it was too good to be true, so I did some research and found that this type of cabinet is just as strong as a regular assembled cabinet. Furthermore, these cabinets are easy to assemble, great looking, strong, and durable. I was sold on the RTA kitchen cabinets (and I also found that there were RTA Bathroom Vanities), so now at this point, I just had to find these kitchen cabinets.
I first did some research online. (I did a Google search for RTA kitchen cabinets). I found pages of information and realized that it is far better to buy these cabinets online. Yes the big box retail stores, not only sell an inferior product, when it comes to RTA kitchen cabinets, but the retail store prices were about thirty percent (30%) higher than the prices I was finding online.
In the end I had a small kitchen that needed a lot of work. I saved money by doing things myself, but the biggest savings came from the RTA kitchen cabinets. I not only saved hundreds of dollars, but I saved gas money, time and effort, because I bought these cabinets online. It was a safe, easy, and efficient process that left me money and reason to buy my bathroom vanities in the same way. Next project, my bathroom and I will be using RTA bathroom vanities.
I have been remodeling house for 15 years, and I have the secret to getting high qualitykitchen cabinetry at an affordable price. Interested in finding out my secret? Follow these links to find out the secret to getting kitchen cabinetry at 30-40% below retail prices
