Get Paid To Travel The World In A Few Simple Steps
Getting paid to travel the world sounds like a dream but what if you could make it a reality? Just close your eyes and imagine going to bed in Greece and waking up in Turkey, travelling to a new exotic location each week - in fact, every day!
Grab a piece of paper and make list of all the job titles that involve not just one but all of these things: adventure, travel, luxury, money and new experiences. Now, count how many you have. Either it's a very short list or you gave up. This surreal lifestyle can be achieved and this article will give you all the information you need to make this dream a reality.
Working on a vessel, or any type of boat can give you a lifestyle that you wouldn't change for the world. Its exciting and fun, interesting and original - all things that are very rare in a job these days.
There are various different positions you can opt for but the most luxurious roles are usually onboard a yacht. A yacht can be a second home to you and is able to cater to all of your needs like no other vessel, although there are still many other different options for you to take into consideration. ...
... On board a work yacht there are job titles that allow you to experience this way of living including a captain, mate, engineer, chef, stewardess, deckhand any many other specialty positions.
Of course much like anything there are rules, procedures and policies you need to abide by in order to excel in your ideal job. Working on a boat needs preparation and this could vary dramatically depending on your chosen role. Setting aside the job title and focusing more on the destination in which you will work, you will need a basic set of skills and training in order to work on a vessel. To work on a vessel that is over 24m you need to have STCW 95 basic training. If you are looking to work on a vessel that is not over 24m but will work on a commercial vessel, super yacht or a private yacht charter you will also need to attend one of the STCW 95 courses.
So what is a STCW 95 and why do you need it? SCTW 95 stands for Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping. The STCW 95 courses will provide you with a certificate that is compulsory before working. This qualification is a legal requirement, so in order to live the dream it is a must! The course itself is in place to educate you on the safety procedures in order to ensure that your crew members, your passengers and more importantly, you, are safe. There are a few different levels of training that cover different elements but this will be dependant on which role you opt for.
Whichever training you need will cover important elements that relate to survival, prevention, first aid and overall safety essentials. Each course or level will cover personal survival techniques. This will teach you about what to do in the event of having to abandon ship and all the preparations that need to be made. You will be given hands-on training so that you can use the equipment that you would in real life. It will also touch on fire fighting and all your social responsibilities so that you are ready for any event.
