The Vatican City is the world's center of Catholic faith. It is believed to be the resting place of Saint Peter to whom Jesus entrusted the church. Also, among the list are the minor basilicas like the Papal Basilica of San Lawrence, Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem and the shrine of Our Lady of Divine Love. For over the centuries, the Vatican has been encouraging pilgrims to the capital by holding Jubilee celebrations where forgiveness of sins, spiritual cleansing and God's mercy are demonstrated.

Cuisine

Your Rome experience would not be complete without trying out the local cuisine. You may as well try the Saltimbocca alla Romana- a Roman dish made from veal cuts with ham and sage drenched and cooked with butter and wine. Also, among the famous dishes are Carciofi alla Romana and Spaghetti alla Carbonara.
