Using Balance In Website Design
Whenever we consider the concept of balance in design, we think of its harmonizing and cohesive attributes that it imparts. Balance is abundant in nature and implementation of the concept often yields aesthetically appeasing results that generates a complete picture in our minds. Considering the other side of the paradigm, asymmetry helps in breaking this balance and can actually generate interesting results in return. As with each physical object, even the elements of the website design have their weight.
A Website Design Company would apply the strategy to ensure that the visitors are able to see the places that is important. This article describes some of the factors that influence this. To begin with, let’s understand the meaning of balance. It is the equal distribution of visual weight in the website. It occurs either around a vertical axis or on a horizontal axis. Since we are bilateral creatures, if the elements are not balanced the effect would come across as disturbing and uncomfortable. The first type is the symmetrical balance. This is important as the elements on either side of the axis, is similar to each ...
... other. Each component of the website design is evenly proportional, so that the entire page transpires as equal. Even if the grid were broken, the proportions would still visually reimburse similar.
The second component of the best website design is the vertical balance. This is the vertical oriented version of the symmetrical design. The top and bottom of the website should reflect on the horizontal axis. In the horizontally balanced websites, the elements are designed to balance out the left and right of the central axis. There are some other forms of balance like the radial balance and the bilateral symmetry. Both of them are used to deign logos and prints. While the former occurs when all the elements are spaced around the center point, the latter is the result when the composition of the website is balanced on more than one axis. The bilateral symmetry is known as the mirror effect as the reflection symmetry does not have any specific direction.
Lastly, as there exist in symmetry, there is also asymmetry. This can be defined as the object that can be broken into multiple predefined patterns of symmetry, or what is colloquially called the imbalance of the design elements. Integrating the asymmetric designs help in impart versatility. For example, if there are two columns of text, one is shade lighter than the other is, this creates contrast and highlights the content. The minuscule navigational column is added certain components that would create a balance of the layout.
The difference between asymmetry and symmetry is gigantic. Sometimes the Website Design Company may be confused in regards to its use and what would actually improve the appearance of the website. Symmetrical designs can be easily trusted and the asymmetric design reinforces the message. Symmetrical designs are best applied to content rich websites that have same message sprawling in website design and print design. On the other hand, asymmetry cam is used to create attention by throwing the balance.
Balance is a powerful tool and using the symmetrical balance results in organized, cohesion and professionalism. On the other hand, asymmetry leads to generate interest, imparts a character to the website and an individual flavor to the website.
