Growing Up A Child Beautifully With Shared Parenting
The Role of Mckenzies
One of the most stressful times of life comes when one has to sort out matters after his or her marriage or relationship ends. It is natural that someone going through this kind of tough situation would always seek advice from a reliable solicitor. An alternative could be taking the help and advice of a Mckenzie friend.
If one’s case needs to go to the court then he or she would be a Litigant in Person and would require someone who would present the case before the Judge. A mckenzie friend is not qualified legally but he would offer assistance in matters like taking notes, organizing the documents and making suggestions softly. Some Judges do allow Mckenzie friends to present the case and speak on the clients’ behalf.
Some functions performed by Mckenzies are:
Understanding the court processes and what options can be made available to the client
Offering suggestions on potential outcomes
Preparing statements and other crucial documents that would be required in the Courtroom
Being present ...
... in the Courtroom with the client
Mckenzie friends are of big help because they have the experience and good understanding of the situation and processes before.
Taking care of children through shared parenting
Divorce is a major emotional crisis for adults and it has a huge effect on the children’s’ emotional and mental health. Needless to say, children are our most valuable resource and protecting them from excessive hurt and emotional turmoil is a must. In a divorcing situation, it is good for the couples to remember that though their relationship to their spouse is ending they still are and would always be “Mom” and “Dad” to their kids. By coming to an agreement on shared parenting both the parents may reduce the harm their children would most likely face as an ill effect of this personal crisis.
In contemporary times more and more parents are moving away from the traditional form of divorce where only one parent was given the custody of the children. In shared parenting both the parents have the physical custody of the child and they get to spend ample time with them. It is a method that allows both the parents to actively parent their kids.
Studies have shown that co-parenting arrangements are truly beneficial for the children. The children are better behaved, are sounder socially, are generally happier, have lesser negative and bitter feelings, have higher feelings of self-esteem.
These are some of the advantages of shared parenting the bottom-line being that children have a better upbringing here and are happier as compared to children who are brought up in sole custody.
