As everyone is getting ready for cooler weather and falling leaves, it may seem odd to some to talk about building a swimming pool. The savvy consumer knows that there are many reasons why fall is the perfect time to buy and build a pool.

Pool builders want to extend their season and keep busy through their slow times and they will give you incentives and discounts to buy now, instead of waiting until the spring. Quite often pool builders use subcontractors and they will approach them to ask them for deals on their products and services so that they can lower their prices or give you some free upgrades. Their reasoning is that if they get more jobs, it means more work for them. In the end, it is a win-win-win for the pool builders, subcontractors and especially the homeowner.

Since pool builders are slower during this time of year, you can expect them to pay more attention to detail on the construction of your pool and move through the project faster. In the spring and summer, their busiest seasons, they are running around from job to job trying to build as many pools as they can. This can mean that phases may ...
... not be supervised and items may be missed. Homeowners usually do not know that pool construction normally takes from six to eight weeks and that can be pushed out if pool builders have too many jobs going on at once. You may see them in your backyard working then not see them for another week or two because they are working on other projects.

There are also some additional benefits to having pool construction done in the fall. The weather is cooler and drier and pool builders much prefer to work in these types of conditions, instead of slopping around in the wet mud in the spring. It is also beneficial to you as pool construction in general can make your backyard unidentifiable - with dirt everywhere and a giant hole in it. Adding rain to the mix and it will become a real mess. It certainly will not be a good place for your kids and dogs to be in.

Fall is also a great time to put landscaping in around your pool, giving it time to mature and grow so that you will have a beautiful backdrop for your new pool at the first sign of spring. There can also be some great deals to be had for your landscaping too as landscapers have seasons similar to pool builders. You may even want to ask pool builders who they use and who they can recommend. People quite often do their pool, hardscaping and landscaping at the same time and with the same contractor.

The biggest advantage to building a pool in the fall is that you will have a full season of fun once the weather warms up. While your friends and neighbors are getting bids from pool builders in the spring or summer, you will already be diving, snorkeling, floating and having pool parties. Plus you will not have your kids bugging about when the pool will be done.

So if you dream backyard includes a pool, you should call pool builders today to get bids and start the process.
