Whether it's a birthday party, a victory party, or welcoming party, hosting one in the office is an excellent way to boost the morale of the person you're throwing the party for. This should be a piece of cake, especially if the company has been around for years and office parties are already a part of company tradition. If your company is still young, however, and have only experienced one or two parties in the past, you may need to put in some extra effort in order for the party to be a success. Here are some tips to help you pull it off.

Send a Party Invite, not a Memorandum

The last thing you would want to do is make your co-workers feel that they're attending a conference meeting and not a party. Since the invite sets the tone for the party, make sure you send actual invitations to each co-worker and not a memorandum. If you want to pull off the best office party, don't just print your invite in a piece of paper and ask your assistant to pin it in the bulletin board for all to see. Your co-workers are professionals, but they are not robots. Send individual invites to each of them. This will not only help set ...
... the mood for the party, but will also make them feel important.

Transform the Venue

Whether you're throwing the party in one of the function rooms in your office building or at a separate venue, see to it that you transform the whole place to create a festive atmosphere. The goal of an office party is to help your co-workers relax and unwind and take their minds off their work, so make sure you decorate the venue until it becomes a place where people would actually want to hang out. If you want to use a theme, don not think twice, as long as you know it's going to be a good move. Need party supplies? Check discount party supplies here. The point here is you need to do whatever it takes to create a party, and not a workplace atmosphere.

Be the Best Host

The best parties are thrown by the best hosts, and to be an excellent host, treat the office party like it's your own party. Greet guests at the door, talk to the intern to make him more comfortable, coordinate with the caterer - all these little things will help you achieve your goal, and that is to help put everyone at ease and just enjoy the occasion.

Get Everyone Involved

Plan an interactive party so that everyone can truly enjoy. To avoid leaving someone out, plan party activities that everyone can participate in without feeling ashamed or embarrassed. It may be a simple charades or trivia game, but if it can break the ice for everybody, it's helping you achieve your goal.

Serve Fabulous Party Food

Finally, don't forget the food, and not just any kind of food but fabulous party food. If you're having a theme, make sure you select dishes that suits that theme. It's up to you whether you are hiring a caterer or simply have a potluck. If you're hiring a caterer, don't be too cheap, but hire the best caterer in town. If you're having a potluck, assign who's bringing what and remind everybody that it's going to be a party and not a lunch break at the office pantry.
