There is huge shortage of trained medical and nursing faculty, especially in the developed countries. College and university employers all across the world are looking for qualified health care professionals with clinical experience who have an interest in becoming faculty at their institutions. In fact there is a great shortage of nursing faculty jobs in developed countries. According to a U.S. government study, by the year 2020, there could ...
... be a nationwide shortage of up to one million nurses. Few of the many reasons of such shortage in nursing faculty jobs are that new opportunities keep coming up for the nursing practice, which further drains the number of nurses available as faculty in institutes. Other important factors which aggravate the shortage of nursing faulty are the aging workforce, problems in recruiting young staff and difficulty in retaining the faculty.
In order to overcome the shortage of nurses, lots of nursing schools are opening across the world. A Nursing school is a type of educational institution which provides education and training to become a fully-qualified nurse. Though the nature of nursing education and nursing qualifications varies considerably across the world but the nursing faculty jobs have same kind of requirements. It is an interesting fact that Florence Nightingale was one of the pioneers in establishing the idea of nursing schools from her base at St Thomas' Hospital, London in 1860 when she opened the 'Nightingale Training School for Nurses'.
There is recruitment across the globe to fill up these faculty jobs and people from all across the world are brought in the developed countries for the same purpose.
