Kratom is known to be both stimulant and sedative. In lower dose, it is stimulating, which is great for increasing focus and concentration. The ability to withstand extreme working condition in a prolonged period of time is also acquired. Higher dose on the other hand, is sedative, great for relaxation and for relieving stress after a heavy day of work. It is also great for treating and/or eliminating depressive mood.

First time Kratom Use – What to Expect?

If you are a first time kratom user, you may have many questions in mind. You probably want to know what to expect when you take kratom for the first time. But before you take kratom and feel its effects, you need to know how to ingest it and how to choose the right form for you.

Methods of Ingestion

There are three major ways of ingesting kratom. Chewing it raw, brewing tea and smoking. The first method is the one with the longest lasting effects among the three. However, it is also the hardest to do because of kratom’s insane bitter taste. However, there are ways to remove/mask the bitter taste. The second method, tea, is also a great way ...
... to ingest kratom. However, like chewing, it does have an insane bitter taste. You can add honey to eliminate the bitter taste. The third method, smoking is the least and poorest way of ingesting kratom which is often considered a waste of time, money and resources. Avoid this method at all costs.

Effects of Kratom

Now that you know the different ways of kratom use, you are now ready to know what will happen to you after taking kratom. Generally, kratom effects are categorized into two different levels of effects: stimulating and sedative. The first effect can be achieved in taking lower dose kratom, about 2-5g of 5x standardized kratom extract. Higher dosage, about 10g or more of the same type can give you the sedative effects.

Stimulating effects will improve your concentration, increase your desire for work, make you more talkative, increase energy and focus. Sedative effects will greatly relax you, eliminate any worries you currently have, and improve mood. However, refrain from doing any risky work such as driving and operating heavy machinery while under the effects of kratom (even after 6 hours of effects). Also be prepared for nausea and vomiting as your body might be shocked with this new substance (don’t worry as this is normal).
