There exists a belief that Lucky Strike cigarettes contained marijuana cigarettes in some of their packs and that is the reason why they were called so. You should know that this is just a myth or a legend — call it just as you choose because it has nothing to do with reality. There were people who did not believe in that reason and considered Lucky Strike changed color on package to make it look modern. In fact, a research have shown that green package loses support among smokers and the brand needed an absolutely new package appearence. Thus they introduced new package with a new slogan "Lucky Strike Green Has Gone to War! - So Here's The Smart New Uniform For Fine Tobacco" which helped them increase their sales by 40%.
