Moroccan people are proud of using a great and varied cultural heritage that is the result of the ethnic variation of Moroccan culture. Traditional Moroccan clothes are a significant part of this heritage. In the following paragraphs, I will mention some types of traditional clothes that are famous in this wonderful country.

We have two main types of conventional clothes:

On the one hand, we have clothes for men, which are considered as a mandatory condition to be fulfilled on all Moroccan special occasions, such as wedding parties, the Aids, and circumcision parties.

We can find many kinds of these clothes: the actual djellaba, a long, loosely fitted hooded outer robe along with full sleeves, the terbouch or tarbush, a red felt hat in the shape of a truncated cone, and the belgha baboosh or leather sleepers. Also, there is the derraa, the actual Sahrawi traditional male clothes consisting of a long free shirt of blue cotton.

On the other hand, we've clothes for women, which are considered as essential to their elegance and beauty. There are many kinds of women's ...
... clothing, such as the caftan, a long garment with wide free sleeves, fastened in the front with a row associated with small buttons usually made of silk braid, of Andalusian origin.

The caftan or kaftan has become one of the most famous Moroccan dresses for women, although it used to be special for men, and it has witnessed many changes in order to make it more modern and more practical.

There is also the takchita, which consists of D'fina, in which we can discover many colors, as well as T'htya, in which we can find only one color. You have the djellaba as well, which also offers witnessed many modern touches.

In addition to these, we can find a few Amazigh clothes, such as the ahayk, the actual tabizart, the tatrft or the laktib as well as, finally, we have the mlahfa, which is common amongst Saharan women and which covers the whole body except face and hands.
